Almond Butter

Cooking time 10-15mins Blending time 5-10mins

Ingredients

Almonds (Natural) (250g of nuts will give you 250mls of butter)
Salt to taste

Preparation

  1. Heat oven to 180C.
  2. Spread nuts evenly on an oven tray and place in the heated oven.
  3. Roast for 10 – 15mins, turning the nuts over after 5mins. ┬áKeep an eye on the nuts as they can burn quickly.
  4. Place roasted nuts (and salt if you want to add) in a blender/food processor and blend until the nuts turn into a smooth paste. Approximately 5 – 10mins.
  5. Store the almond butter in an air tight container in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.

Enjoy on toast, pop a spoonful into your smoothie, use it in your baking. If you find that the texture is too thick for your liking you can always add a little canola or peanut oil to the roasted nuts when you blend them.
